Mira is a second year student representing Bulgaria in our college. She is 18 years old and in our team she occupies the role of communication, editorial and marketing director. In this capacity she takes care of the publicity of the event. Apart from being keen on the TED movement, she is also interested in ballet, literature and media studies. Inspired from from numerous TEDx videos, Mira hopes to make her contribution to the TED movement.
Raavi is a first year student from the U.S. and who has grown up in Austin, Texas. He is interested in history, politics and appreciates the message of TED to spread new and engaging ideas with the world. He attended his first TED affiliated event in Austin last year after being an avid viewers of TED videos online. On the team he helps to manage TEDXRCN’s social media presence and to cultivate an online image of the event. Apart from TED, Raavi enjoys photography, cooking with friends and listening to music.
Adrian is an 18 year old second year student at UWC RCN from the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Punjab. He is the executive producer in the team, meaning he will be overlooking all technical responsibilities in the next TEDx event. Adrian is a keen subscriber to the talks, conferences and videos TED has to offer. Adrian is passionate about physics and maths, astrophysics in particular, but also enjoys playing music and theatre.
Bella is a second year student representing Poland in our college. She’s keen on politics, communication and gender differences studies as well as sailing. She wants to pursue a career in international law which could enable traveling around the world. Experienced from TEDxWarsaw 2015 and TEDxUWCRCN 2016, this year she is one of the Lead Organisers, supervising the whole event.
Faisal is a first year student representing Jordan. He has a passion for physics, math, public-speaking, and communication. He has a broad experience in organizing events in Jordan, and he is also extremely interested in the TED movement, as he’s a loyal viewer of TED videos online. He has a lot of hope that this TEDx will turn out as successful as he envisions it. Faisal will be working with curating and managing speakers.
Fredrik is a 2nd year Norwegian from Stavanger. He has an interest in politics, debating and theatre. He is one of the lead organisers of TEDxUWCRCN and is also working with budgeting and finance. Being an avid follower of TED talks, Fredrik is highly enthusiastic about the coming event and seeks to make it even better than last year, bringing together speakers from all over the world.
Hayley is a second year student at TEDxUWCRCN representing Hong Kong and a member of the lead organising team. Having organised TEDx last year at the school, she’s excited to see how it will continue to grow this year as one of the lead organisers and believes that TEDx has great potential in the spread of new, innovative ideas. Outside of TEDx, Hayley also enjoys philosophy, queer studies and 80s hip hop.
Sonya is a first year student at UWCRCN from Ireland and a member of the event management team. She has been interested in TED talks since 2013 when the she heard about a Tedx event that was held in Dublin. She is excited to be involved in organising such an innovative event which brings together so many incredible people and ideas. She is also interested in Politics, literature, music and travel.
Isabel is a second year student representing Costa Rica, but who also finds her roots in Canada. In our team she takes the role of Events Manager, which means she, along with other member of the team, takes care of creating a TEDx experience for the guests. Apart from being involved with TEDx she's keen in Art, Philosophy and Literature; as well as cooking and enjoying food from different parts of the world.
Jesper Damberg is a first year student representing Denmark. He is passionate about economics, politics and public-speaking. Jesper is also a firm believer in the power of education which has led him to develop a genuine interest in the TedX format; spreading ideas that changes attitudes, opinions and, ultimately, lives through short but powerful talks. Jesper is combining his public speaking and event management experience with his genuine interest when working together with Isabel and Sonya in the event management team.
Kasper is a 17-year-old student from Norway. Having been involved with politics and public speaking for years, Kasper has long admired the TED initiative for it’s ability to gather and distribute futuristic and sustainable ideas. Taking part in creating a TEDx event is therefore an optimal experience for him, and he hopes that the event will turn out successful and inspirational. Kasper will be working with budgeting and finance.
Marta is a second year student from Italy. She is fond of economics, history and environmental studies. In our team she will have the role of the Curator, working closely with speakers to plan the details of their participation to TEDxUWCRCN 2017. In addition to an addiction to TEDx videos, she loves good food, art museums and literature.
